Suzuki Cello School, Cello Part Volume 7
Suzuki Cello School Volume 7 is a great collection of music for your advanced, young cellist.
This is book is generally a breeze to get through after working hard in Cello Volume 6. It is full of great cello music, and you're student is sure to love the variety!
Here's what's in Volume 7:
- Largo and Allegro from the Sonata in G minor (H. Eccles)
- Bourrée I & II from the Suite in C Major, BWV 1009 (J. S. Bach)
- Gavotte, Op. 23, No. 2 (D. Popper)
- Sicilienne (M. T. von Paradis)
You might want to throw in a couple of other movements from the third suite! There are lots of good challenges in the book, but learning multiple movements from a Bach suite is invaluable! Hopefully you're practicing all of your scales in lots of octaves! There are some fun places in the Popper that can get you way out of your comfort zone! Gorgeous music from great composers. Enjoy!
g this book. Maybe another from the 1st Suite. The older (un-revised) editions of this book did have other movements, and I think getting the whole suite by the time you finish the Suzuki repertoire would be a real plus!
